Four Ring drop noseband
The four ring drop noseband is a modern development on the traditional drop noseband. I call it the four ring drop noseband because it has four rings/straps. The bottom strap sits where a regular drop noseband sits and the additional top straps sits further up, just below the cheek. I do sell them singly made to measure for £180 or £400 with a complete bridle with any style browband
The four ring drop helps in several ways.
The top strap draws the noseband strap away from the eye, see photos below.
Both straps have padded back buckle pads, which takes the buckles away from the horse’s mouth and also makes it symmetrical when done up. You never have a wonky saddle or stirrups, so why have a wonky noseband?
The top padded jaw strap allows greater stability for the horse’s jaw and can help stop the horse flicking their tongue over the bit.
The rings allow the straps to move slightly, so they are not as fixed and ridged as on a flash noseband.

What horse might benefit from a 4 ring drop ?
A horse that isn’t stable in the contact and plays and fiddles with the bit.
A horse that needs a less severe noseband than a regular flash noseband but still needs a strap below the bit.
It can help the horse drop its head and be softer and relax into the contact.
